How to Use Dead Sea Salt for Skin & Bath

Dead Sea salt is far more than a bath additive — it's a mineral powerhouse used for soaking, scrubbing, and skin therapy. Here's how to get the most from it.

If you've ever floated effortlessly on the surface of the Dead Sea, you've felt the effect of its salt firsthand. That same mineral salt, harvested and refined, brings a piece of the Dead Sea experience into your own bathroom.

What makes Dead Sea salt special?

Unlike ordinary table salt or even other sea salts, Dead Sea salt is remarkably low in sodium chloride and exceptionally high in magnesium, potassium, calcium, and bromide. This is the same mineral profile that gives the Dead Sea its therapeutic reputation — concentrated into crystals you can use at home.

Three ways to use Dead Sea salt

1. As a bath soak

Dissolve a generous handful of Dead Sea salt in warm bathwater and soak for 15–20 minutes. This is the closest you'll get to the Dead Sea floating experience at home, and it's a favourite for relaxing muscles and soothing dry skin.

2. As a body scrub

Mixed with a little oil, Dead Sea salt makes an excellent exfoliating scrub. The mineral crystals slough away dead skin while the oil nourishes — leaving skin smooth and refreshed. Many of our brands offer ready-made salt scrubs in a range of scents.

3. For targeted skin care

Dead Sea salt soaks are widely used by people managing dry, irritated, or problem skin. The region itself is a renowned natural treatment destination, and salt-based products bring a measure of that benefit into a regular routine.

Start with a smaller amount of salt and adjust to your preference. A warm — not hot — soak is gentlest on the skin, and always follow with a mineral moisturiser.
